·         Description: Body part raises above vertical and it has four-cornered leaves which are slightly hairy and green.

·         Components: Flowery stems produce essential oil called oleum origani which contains carvacrol with 68 percent.

·         Harvest Time: The months between Julys to August when the plant flowered.

·         Geographic spread: It is found in Western and Southern Anatolia and Thrace.
